About Me.. the updated version
Well, Im a 20y/o Irish chick, I am a student, Im a sister, a daughter, a grandaughter, a cousin, an Auntie(my favorite title) a friend, a traveller, a worker, a worryier, a planner and a dreamer.
I love to be outside, I love my horses, and dog, I love showjumping, but it scares me these days, and I have recently developed a love for all things carriage driving.
I went to an all girls private grammar school, and after spending 4 months of my life in MA, I actually ended up going to university a whole 1/4 mile from my school. It’s hardly progress, but you know how it goes. Progression however, has come in the form of my plans for this semester. I am continuing my studies in Kingston, Ontario.
During Summer 2007, I lived and worked in MA. I’m a horseback riding instructor, and love kids, so I loved my job. I love to travel, but hate being a tourist. It was perfect for me as I could submerge myself into ”real life” and test me fledgling wings out a bit, with the safety net of knowing I was only a month or so from going ”home.”
I used to think that Ireland was dull, and boring, and I cried everytime I landed in Dublin airport after living in MA. Living in Canada has made me appreciate Ireland, its beauty, its people and most of all, the life I lead there, with the people I love.As much as I enjoy travelling, Ireland will always be very dear to me, it’s where I grew up, and I have some awesome memories, which help me in my new journey into Canada. I started this blog last summer to document my escape from Ireland – out of a country that I thought was too small for me to properly test my wings – and by testing them out this last semester, I have discovered that there’s no place like home. As much as I have enjoyed testing my wings in a foreign country, I am eagerly anticipating my return to Ireland, where I intend to settle down for a while. I am doing it, I am proving it, I am living proof that I can live abroad, study, and be successful. I’ve tested my wings, and they work….
So, that’s what this blog will (hopefully) be about – my journey to ”wherever” – the trails and tribulations of moving abroad, of what I’m up to, of how I’m feeling, and most of all – how my head keeps up with my newly formed ”big girl wings.”
*From fairywings onwards, eh?*
Yay! I didn’t know that you had a blog on here, I can’t wait to read up and get to know you better! ~Amanda
